End of an Era and passing of India’s Mightiest Cultural Ambassador To The World

Musical legend #PanditJasraj passed away at the age of 90 in America after A brief illness 

Hailed as The Incomparable Musical Genius by The Guardian & A Huge Pillar of India Classical Music by BBC, started  his musical journey at the age of 3 under  the guidance of his father Pandit Motiram and later by his elder brother Pandit Maniram, originally interested to become A tabla player on seeing humiliation being meted out to a percussionist by A leading singer on stage decided to become A vocalist and vowed not to cut his hair till the end of his learning in classical music 

His contribution in the history of #music will be written in golden letters

Not many would know , but with his musical prowess he created magic on more than few occasions

Few that I’m aware of are listed below as a tribute to the legend and maestro :

A) At the Sankat Mochan festival during the year 1987 in varanasi, while singing Raag Todi, he managed to entrance a deer (yes a wild deer) who stayed around for full 40 minutes around the stage to listen him perform (similar episode took place once when Tansen & Baiju Bawra contested in the court of King Akbar and Tansen performed Raag Deepak and managed to light up lamps with his recital ) 

B) with his recital of raag darbari and durga shaloka “jai jai Shree durge” pandit ji managed to temporarily cure a 19 year old cancer patient from his death bed who wished to see pandit ji perform live once as his last wish in life

C) With Raag Dhulia Malhar he could bring/attract rains at the most drought stricken regions of India

The only artist in the world who had the capability and capacity to erase geographical, religious and racial borders with his musical talent
