To begin with the corona virus has exposed the fragile healthcare systems of the world and is testing the abilities of the infrastructures as well as Doctors, Nurses, Researchers & Sanitization Staff to the limit 

The Corona Virus has also caught global leaders with their false narratives on growth and development since last 2 decades for the nations and when this invisible virus strain struck, the leaders claims are falling like pack of cards 

While the citizens of the world sit down and try work out the right Exit strategy from harsh lockdowns and businesses wait to reopen, A major & interesting change is brewing up and worth noting is the way the hospital and healthcare industry , which should’ve been leading from the front in treating patients and was expecting their facilities to be flooded with flow of patients 

Especially Super Speciality Hospitals in Delhi, Hospital in Mumbai, Hospital in Ahmedabad , Chandigarh, Lucknow, Find Themselves at crossroads where despite a massive health crisis playing out to packed houses , worried people around the world not willing to risk their lives by visiting hospitals for non serious medical conditions and seek advice of doctors on cardiac, diabetes, neuro disorders,  sports injuries & road accidents related matters 

The only positive news the lockdowns and corona virus has brought to people are:

1. Reduction in road accidents cases 
2. Stay at home has resulted in significant reduction in cardiac, stress and sleep disorders as people found themselves with no choice but to improve lifestyles and eating habits 
3. Due to stop in travel to offices and meetings, the hypertension on matters related to business growth , meeting revenue targets and quarterly profits has also come down 
4. Due to complete ban on sports activities, fewer number of people are consulting doctors on orthopedic issues 
5. Same patterns are playing out in dental, eyes and ear sides of medical complications 

If early trends are to be believed, like schools the hospital & healthcare industry is all set to undergo a major transformation

And on the lines of school & colleges in India, the doctors, lab tests,  consultations and various other forms of healthcare delivery may shift entirely to online + digital platforms

Case in point, my mother is undergoing her treatment for behavioral disorder on phone with her doctor and has stopped hospital visits since Early Feb , 2020

However worrying developments are emerging with rise in number of cases of corona virus, rise in  online searches about corona hospital near me,  flip flop policy from governments on who gets admitted to hospitals and who don’t & along with serious supply constraints on availability of ICU beds in hospitals , the time has come for hospital managements and governments to cooperate and have A people centric policy on the lines of steps taken by state governments of Kerala & federal governments of Vietnam & New Zealand in successfully tackling the corona virus challenge may be adopted by states struggling with containment as well as growth of spread of corona virus
